Abstract:
Cílem této práce je srovnat filozofické pojednání Lorda Shaftesburyho s morálními postoji Henryho Fieldinga, které vyjádřil ve svých dílech Joseph Andrews, Tom Jones a Amelia. Analýza hlavních postav těchto tři románů se soustředí nejen na paralely mezi etickými hodnotami obou autorů, ale zjišťuje také rozdíly v jejich záměrech a pohledech na morální vývoj člověka.
Abstract:
The thesis is concerned with an analysis of the work of two 18th century thinkers, Lord Shaftesbury and Henry Fielding. By comparing Shaftesbury's ethical theories with the parallel characters in Fielding's three novels, Joseph Andrews, Tom Jones and Amelia, the thesis proves that Fielding's moral conception correlates with Shaftesbury's main philosophical ideas.
