Evaluating the economic performance of a company in comparison with competition through economic added value

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je na základě zpracované finanční analýzy a ekonomické přidané hodnoty posoudit ekonomickou výkonnost podniku v komparaci s konkurencí v letech 2014-2019, a na základě výsledků analýz doporučit opatření vedoucí k eliminaci slabých stránek finančního hospodaření společnosti. V první části této práce jsou specifikovány základní pojmy finanční analýzy a zdroje dat potřebných k této analýze. Následující kapitola je zaměřena na klasické a moderní metody finanční analýzy, především ekonomické přidané hodnoty EVA, způsoby výpočtů a vymezení pozitiv a negativ obou metod přístupů. V dalších částech je vybraná teorie aplikovaná na vybranou společnost a nejbližší konkurenční společnost. Poslední část se věnuje komparaci metod EVA u analyzovaných společností. V závěru jsou výsledky v návaznosti na provedené výpočty shrnuty a následně jsou navržena vhodná doporučení ke zvýšení výkonnosti společnosti. Základním zdrojem informací pro provedení analýzy jsou výroční zprávy a finanční výkazy společností.

Abstract:

The goal of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the economic productivity of the company in comparison with competitors in period 2014 – 2019. This evaluation is based on processed financial analysis and economic value added. The results of the analysis give foundation for recommended measures to eliminate week parts of financial management of the company. The first part of this thesis specifies the basic terms of financial analysis and data sources needed for this analysis. The following chapter focuses on classical and modern methods of financial analysis, especially economic value added of EVA, methods of calculation and definition of positives and negatives of both methods. In the following parts is the chosen theory applied to the selected company and the nearest competitive company. The last part deals with comparison of EVA methods in analysed companies. In the end are the results summarized in connection with calculations. After that are proposed the suitable recommendations how to increase the productivity of the company. The basic sources of information for the analysis are annual reports and financial statements of the companies.
