The mapping of barriers to the employment of disabled people and people with health disadvantages in the Czech labor market

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zmapovat bariéry, se kterými se osoby se zdravotním postižením na pracovním trhu setkávají. V teoretické části se práce opírá o právní rámec, který se zaměstnáváním osob se zdravotním postižením souvisí. Dále představuje druhy zdravotního postižení, výsledky šetření Českého statistického úřadu z roku 2018 a nástroje aktivní politiky zaměstnanosti. V praktické části práce je proveden kvalitativní výzkum metodou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se šesti osobami se zdravotním postižením. Díky rozhovorům jsou získána podrobná a rozsáhlá data. Ta jsou přepisována za použití softwaru MAXQDA 2022 a kódována pomocí softwaru QDA Miner Lite. Je zjištěno, že osoby se zdravotním postižením se na pracovním trhu setkávají s nedostatečnou sebedůvěrou při hledání zaměstnání, s nedostatkem pozic pro OZP, s nejrůznějšími předsudky ze strany zaměstnavatelů, s nutností zatajovat status OZP, s neznalostí a strachem zaměstnávat OZP a mnohými dalšími bariérami. Na závěr práce je uvedeno vyhodnocení a jsou navržena opatření, která mohou zjištěné bariéry eliminovat.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to map the barriers that people with disabilities face in the labour market. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on the legal framework related to the employment of people with disabilities. It also presents the types of disability, the results of the 2018 Czech Statistical Office survey and active employment policy instruments. In the practical part of the thesis, qualitative research is conducted using semi-structured interviews with 6 persons with disabilities. Thanks to the interviews, detailed and extensive data are obtained. These are transcribed using MAXQDA 2022 software and coded using QDA Miner Lite software. It is found that people with disabilities in the labour market face lack of confidence in seeking employment, lack of positions for people with disabilities, various prejudices from employers, having to conceal their PWD status, low level of awareness and fear of employing people with disabilities and many more barriers. The paper concludes with an evaluation and suggests measures that can eliminate the identified barriers.
