Biouhel je jeden z produktů pyrolýzy, termální přeměny biomasy probíhající bez přístupu kyslíku. Pro své vlastnosti, zejména vysokou pórovitost a velkou plochu, je biouhel navrhován pro aplikaci do půdy, čímž může dojít k zvýšení kvality půd a dalším pozitivním přínosům. Biochar is one of the products of pyrolysis, thermal conversion of biomass under O2-limited conditions. Due to biochar's features, such as the porous structure and large surface area, biochars may be used as a soil amendment in agriculture for improving soil quality and other benefits.
