Assessment of the Company's Financial Situation and Suggestions for Improvement

Abstract:

Diplomové práce se zabývá zhodnocením finanční situace společnosti Bonavita se zaměřením na naplňování základního finančního cíle podnikání, což je tvorba hodnoty pro vlastníka při respektování zájmů stakeholderů. V teoretické části jsou popsány hlavní ukazatele elementární finanční analýzy, podle kterých je vyhodnocena finanční situace daného podniku v letech 2017 až 2021. Klíčovým ukazatelem je ekonomická přidaná hodnota, která byla v prvním a posledním roce záporná. Ekonomická ztráta byla nejvyšší v roce 2021, což bylo způsobeno nepříznivou ekonomickou situací způsobenou pandemií Covid-19. V roce 2021 výrazně vzrostly ceny energií a základních komodit včetně obalových materiálu, což negativně ovlivnilo výsledek hospodaření, který v upravené formě vstupuje do výpočtu EVA. Kromě toho vzrostla i NOA z důvodu stavby nové vločkárny, která byla uvedena do provozu až v roce 2021. V poslední části jsou navržené tři hypotetické situace, ve kterých Bonavita disponuje různou strukturou úročených zdrojů. Zvýšení či snížení zadluženosti společnosti by nemělo výrazný vliv na výsledek a ekonomické ztráty v roce 2021 by podnik dosahoval ve všech zmíněných variantách.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the financial situation of Bonavita with a focus on the fulfillment of the basic financial goal of the business, which is the creation of value for the owner while respecting the interests of stakeholders. In the theoretical part, the main indicators of the elementary financial analysis are described, according to which the financial situation of the company in the years 2017 to 2021 is evaluated. The key indicator is the economic value added, which was negative in the first and last year. The economic loss was the highest in 2021, which was due to the unfavourable economic situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, the prices of energy and basic commodities including packaging materials increased significantly, which negatively affected the profit, which enters the EVA calculation in an adjusted form. In addition, NOA has also increased due to the construction of a new factory, which was commissioned in 2021. The last section proposes three hypothetical situations in which Bonavita has a different structure of interest-bearing resources. An increase or decrease in the company's indebtedness would not have a significant impact on the result and the company would make an economic loss in 2021 in all these scenarios.
