Reconciliation of work and family life in the perspective of foreigners employed in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá harmonizací práce a rodiny cizinců, kteří jsou zaměstnány v České republice. Hlavním cílem této práce je identifikování bariér cizinců při harmonizaci práce a rodiny. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První je teoretická část. Zde jsou prezentovány základní pojmy pro teoretické zarámování práce. Nejdříve je vysvětlena harmonizace práce a rodiny skrz nová sociální rizika. V této práci jsou uvedeny základní teoretické koncepty. První je model tří faktorů od Hobson. Tento model je klíčovým pro tuto práci. Následně je popsána Kulturní teorie, Teorie racionální volby a Preferenční teorie. Dále je v práci charakterizována rodinná politika a vysvětlen její význam pro harmonizaci práce a rodiny. Pak jsou uvedeny konkrétní nástroje harmonizace práce a rodiny (mateřská/rodičovská dovolená, jesle, mateřské školky, mateřská centra, chůvy, miniškoličky, pružná pracovní doba, zkrácené úvazky, práce z domu). V metodologické části je popsána technika výzkumu, charakteristika vzorku, kritéria výběru vzorku, metoda sběru dat, limity výzkumu a etický kodex výzkumu. Poslední část je empirická. Zde jsou analyzovány data z výzkumu a prezentovány výsledky. Empirická část se nejprve zabývá rozdíly mezi rodinnými politikami. Dále jsou popsány strategie cizinců v kontextu harmonizace práce a rodiny. Dále je poukazováno na faktory, které ovlivňují jednání cizinců během harmonizace práce a rodiny. Pak jsou prezentovány další formy péče o dítě, které cizinci využívají. Potom je poukázáno na pomoc ze strany zaměstnavatelů. V závěru práce je shrnut celý výzkum a jsou identifikovány bariéry harmonizace práce a rodiny cizinců žijících v České republice. Na konci práce jsou popsány doporučení pro cizince, stát a zaměstnavatele, které vyvstaly během výzkumu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with harmonization between work and family of foreigners. The main goal of this thesis is identification the barriers of foreigners in harmonization work and family. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is theoretical. There is predented basic topic to create framework of the thesis. The first is explained concept harmonization work and family trough new social risks. Then basic theoretical concepts are written. The first is model of factors from author Hobson. This model is crucial for the thesis. Then Cultural theory, Rational choice theory and Preference theory are described. Next family policy is characterized and their importance is explained in context of harmonization work and family. Finally the specific tools of harmonization work and family are identificated (maternity and parental leave, nursary school, minischool, maternity centers, nannies, flexible working hours, home office, part times) In methodic part of the thesis are desribed technology of research, characteristic of sample, selection criteria, method of data collection, limitation of research, ethic code. The last part of the thesis is empirical. There data from research are analysed and results of research are presented. In empirical part are desribed differences between family policy, strategy of foreigners in harmonization work and family, factors which influence harmonization work nd family, alternative forms of child care, help from employers. In conclusion is summarization of the research. Then the barriers are identified in context harmonization work and family of foreigners. In the end of this thesis are described recommandations for foreigners, state and employers which arose during the research.
