The importance of personal assistance in the support of independent living of people with mental disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje významu osobní asistence v podpoře samostatného bydlení osob s mentálním postižením. Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázku, jak může tato forma asistence pomáhat nebo naopak bránit v integraci uvedené cílové skupiny do samostatného života. Teoretická část obsahuje popis souvisejících pojmů v kontextu platné legislativy, uvedeny jsou i některé teoretické poznatky o přínosech a úskalích služby podpory samostatného bydlení. Aplikační část je zpracovaná jako analýza problému z praxe a ukazuje na příkladu kazuistik dvou klientů konkrétní praktické způsoby, jakými těmto klientům osobní asistence pomáhá v začleňování do samostatného bydlení. Zmíněny jsou i možná rizika související s touto službou. Závěrečná část práce pak obsahuje vyhodnocení zjištěných poznatků a uvedeno je i několik doporučení pro pracovníky vykonávající tuto formu služby.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the importance of personal assistance in the support of independent living of people with mental disabilities. The aim of the work is to answer the question of how this form of assistance can help or impede the integration of this target group into independent life. The theoretical part contains a description of related concepts in the context of current legislation and some theoretical knowledge about the benefits and disadvantages of this type of service. The application part is processed as an analysis of a problem from practice and shows, on the example of case studies of two clients, specific practical ways in which personal assistance helps these clients to integrate into independent living. Possible risks related to this service are also mentioned. The final part of the work contains an evaluation of the findings and several recommendations for workers performing this form of service.
