Structure of Social Workers Participation in Shaping the Identity of the Social Work Field in Modern and Postmodern Conditions

Abstract:

V rigorózní práci se zabývám konstrukcí utváření identity oboru sociální práce sociálními pracovníky s ohledem na moderní a postmoderní společenský kontext. Na základě mojí mnohaleté praxe v oboru sociální práce a častými kontakty s ostatními sociálními pracovníky jsem se často zabývala otázkou, co znamená pro sociální pracovníky obor sociální práce, co si pod tímto pojmem představují a zda sami aktivně vyhledávají možnosti, způsoby a formy, kterými by se mohli podílet na utváření identity oboru sociální práce. V rigorózní práci tedy zjišťuji, zda se sociální pracovníci sami podílejí na utváření identity oboru sociální práce a pokud ano, zda způsob, kterým to činí, lze ztotožnit se způsoby účasti na institucionalizaci oboru sociální práce v modernímči postmoderním kontextu tak, jak předkládá teorie institucionalizace oboru sociální práce. Primárně vycházím z teorie institucionalizace oboru sociální práce v moderních a postmoderních podmínkách, které definují relevantní autoři. Připouštím i možnost, že sociální pracovníci konstruují svojí účast na utváření identity oboru sociální práce zcela jinak, než předpokládá nabízená teorie. V teoretické části práce se zaměřuji na několik stěžejních pojmů. Zejména se zabývám „konstrukcí vlastní účasti sociálních pracovníků na utváření oborové identity sociální práce“, přičemž postupuji tak, že nejprve vymezuji pojem „konstrukce“(1.1) jako obecné východisko vymezení uvedeného pojmového celku, poté se věnuji pojmu „účast sociálních pracovníků na utváření oborové identity sociální práce“ (1.2). Otázky o obecných charakteristikách „konstrukce“ aplikuji na téma účast sociálních pracovníků na utváření oborové identity sociální práce, abych mohla vymezit dílčí výzkumné otázky o konstrukci pojmu vlastní účasti sociálních pracovníků na utváření oborové identity sociální práce. Předmětem mého zkoumání nejsou tedy přímo formy účasti, ale jejich typifikace sociálními pracovníky. Typologii forem účasti lze vnímat jako typologii pravděpodobných typifikací forem účasti sociálních pracovníků na institucionalizaci sociální práce, tedy typologii představ o formách účasti, které sociální pracovníci prožívají jako objektivizovanou součást řádu světa. Zároveň předpokládám, že každá typifikace forem účasti na institucionalizaci oboru sociální práce koresponduje s určitou formou způsobu účasti na utváření identity oboru sociální práce nebo ji alespoň zahrnuje. Definuji i pojem identita, neboť identita v rámci institucionalizace oboru sociální práce figuruje jako popis reakce společnosti na problémy, které z perspektivy celé společnosti ke vzniku a ustavení sociální práce SPR vedly. V empirické části práce odpovídám na základní výzkumnou otázku prostřednictvím postupného zodpovězení všech dílčích výzkumných otázek, které věnuji představám o identitě oboru sociální práce a představám o způsobu vlastní účasti sociálních pracovníků na utváření identity jejich oboru. Jádrem empirické části práce jsou zejména kapitoly 7 až 13, které jsou věnovány dílčím, teorií institucionalizace sociální práce předpokládaným typům představ o vlastní účasti sociálních pracovníků na utváření identity jejich oboru.

Abstract:

In my rigorous thesis I deal with the construction of identity formation in the field of social work by the social workers with regards to the modern and postmodern social context. Based on many years of my own experience in social work and frequent contacts with other social workers, I often dealt with the question of what the social work means for the social workers, what their picture of that concept is and whether they actively look for ways and means to participate in the process of shaping the identity of the field of social work. In my rigorous thesis I try to find out whether the social workers participate in shaping the identity of the field of social work by themselves and if so, whether the way they do it, can be identified with the ways of participation in the institutionalization of the social work in the modern and postmodern context as presented by the theories of institutionalization of the field of social work. Primarily, I come from the theory of institutionalization of the field of social work in modern and postmodern conditions defined by the relevant authors. I also admit the possibility that social workers construct their participation in shaping the identity of the field of social work quite differently than the theory suggests. In the theoretical part I focus on several key concepts. In particular I deal with the "construction of social worker´s own participation in shaping the social identity of social work", first I define the term "construction" (1.1) as a general starting point for defining the conceptual whole, then I devote my attention to the concept of "participation of social workers of forming identity of social work "(1.2). I apply questions about the general characteristics of "construction" to the topic of the participation of social workers in shaping the social identity of social work that I can define the research questions about the construction of the concept of the self-participation of social workers in shaping the social identity of social work. The subject of my researchare not directly the forms of participation but their typification by the social workers. The typology of forms of participation can be perceived as a typology of presumable typification forms of social workers´ participation in the institutionalization of the social work, a typology of ideas about forms of participation that social workers experience as an objectified part of the world. At the same time I assume that each typification of the forms of participation in the institutionalization of the social work field corresponds to a certain form of participation in the formation of identity of the field of social work or at least includes it. I define the notion of identity as the identity within the institutionalization of the field of social work is defined as a description of the reaction of the society to the problems that led from the perspective of the whole society to the creation and establishment of social work. In the empirical part of the thesis I answer the basic research question through the gradual answering of all the partial research questions, which deal with the concepts of the identity of the field of social work and ideas about the way of the social workers' own participation in shaping the identity of their field. At the core of the empirical part of the thesis are especially chapters 7 to 13, which are devoted to the partial theory of institutionalization of social work by the assumed types of ideas about the social workers' own participation in shaping the identity of their field.
