Separatist tendencies in Europe

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to characterize potential and existing separatist movements and regions not only in Europe, but also from a global perspective. Thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical starting point, which contains one chapter and three subsections, and the case studies, which contain one chapter and two subsections. The first chapter of the theoretical starting point is devoted to the characteristics of the state and its overall functioning. In the first subsection, we discuss and characterize the individual attributes of the state. In the second subsection, we deal with factors and aspects that may threaten the security and stability of the state. In the third subsection, we characterize the concept of separatism in more detailed way. We will focus on when separatist movements are formed and what influences and shapes separatism. Then we will move on to the second part of the work - case studies, where we will focus on the characteristics of specific cases on an economic, religious and political basis. In the first subsection, we will focus on potential separatist movements - the causes of their emergence, the course of their formation, the consequences of their existence and the implementation side of the movements themselves. In the second subsection, which will be divided into 3 parts, each about one of the regions, we will discuss specific separatist regions - the causes of the emergence of such tendencies and the individual consequences for the actors if the separation occurs.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto záverečnej práce bola charakteristika potenciálnych a existujúcich separatistických hnutí a regiónov nielen v Európe, ale aj z globálneho hľadiska. Práca je rozdelená na dve časti – teoretické východisko, ktoré obsahuje jednu kapitolu a tri podkapitoly a prípadové štúdiá, ktoré obsahujú jednu kapitolu a dve podkapitoly. Prvá kapitola teoretického východiska je venovaná charakteristike štátu a jeho celkového fungovania. V prvej podkapitole si rozoberieme a charakterizujeme jednotlivé atribúty štátu. V druhej podkapitole sa venujeme faktorom a aspektom, ktoré môžu ohrozovať bezpečnosť a stabilitu štátu. V tretej podkapitole si bližšie charakterizujeme pojem separatizmus. Budeme sa venovať tomu, kedy sa formujú separatistické hnutia a čo ovplyvňuje a formuje separatizmus. Následne prejdeme na druhú časť práce – prípadové štúdie, kde sa budeme venovať charakteristike konkrétnych prípadov na báze ekonomickej, náboženskej a politickej. V prvej podkapitole sa budeme venovať potenciálnym separatistickým hnutiam – príčinám ich vznikania, priebehu ich formovania, dôsledkom ich existencie a samotnej realizačnej stránke hnutí. V druhej podkapitole, ktorá bude rozdelená na 3 časti podľa jednotlivých regiónov, si rozoberieme konkrétne separatistické regióny – príčiny vzniku takýchto tendencií a jednotlivým dôsledkom pre aktérov, ak ku separácii dôjde.
