Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce zkoumá dopad rozvoje železnic na západní expanzi ve Spojených státech amerických ve druhé polovině devatenáctého století. Popisuje podněty ke konstrukci a představuje významné železniční tratě na americkém západě. Také se soustředí na změny, které oblast Velkých planin a jejich původní obyvatelé prodělali v důsledku postupu bílé civilizace.
Abstract:
This diploma thesis examines the effects the development of railroads had on westward expansion in the United States of America in the second half of the nineteenth century. It describes the motivation for the construction and introduces significant railroads in the West.
