The role of a social worker within the adaptation process in the residential service Home for the Elderly Kamenec

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá adaptačním procesem klientů v Domově pro seniory Kamenec, Slezská Ostrava. Jejím cílem je popsat a analyzovat roli sociálního pracovníka v průběhu adaptační fáze nově přijatého klienta ve vybraném zařízení. Obsahově je práce rozdělena na dvě části, a to na teoretickou a aplikační. Teoretická část je zpracována na základě poznatků z odborné literatury. První kapitola se zabývá odbornosti, kompetentnostmi, profesními rolemi sociálního pracovníka a způsoby poskytování sociálních služeb pro seniory v ČR. Druhá kapitola definuje pojmy, jako je stárnutí a stáří a s tím spojenou psychosociální adaptaci ve stáří. V aplikační části je popsána a analyzována činnost sociálních pracovníků v adaptačním období klienta v Domově pro seniory Kamenec. Jako metoda je zde zvolena obsahová analýza dostupné sociální dokumentace a následná komparace zpracovaných třech případových studií klientů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the adaptation process of clients in the Home for the elderly Kamenec, Slezská Ostrava. Its aim is to describe and analyse the role of the social worker during the adaptation phase of a newly admitted client in the selected facility. The content of the thesis is divided into two parts- theoretical and application. The theoretical part is elaborated on the basis of knowledge from the professional literature. The first chapter deals with the expertise, competencies, professional roles of social worker and ways of providing social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic. The second chapter defines concepts such as ageing and elderhood and the associated psychosocial adaptation in the ageing process. In the application part, the activities of social workers in the adaptation period of a client in the Kamenec Home for the Elderly are described and analysed. The method chosen here is a content analysis of available social documentation and a subsequent comparison of three case studies of clients.
