Nervové kmenové buňky jsou nediferencované buňky schopné sebeobnovy a diferenciace v neurony, astrocyty a oligodendrocyty. Během embryonálního vývoje jsou za první nervové kmenové buňky považovány neuroepitelové buňky nervové trubice. Při dalším vývoji neuroepitelové buňky mění svou expresi a diferencují v radiální glie. Neural stem cells are undifferentiated cell, which are self-renewing and can differentiate into neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. During embryonal development first progenitors, which can be considered as neural stem cells, are neuroepithelial cells of neural tube.
