Determination of thicknesses and optical constants of non-uniform polymer thin films

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se zabýváme tloušťkově neuniformními polymerními tenkými vrstvami. Hlavním úkolem této práce je určení tlouštěk, optických konstant a parametrů určující neuniformitu daných vrstev. Měření probíhalo pomocí spektroskopické elipsometrie v blízké infračervené, viditelné a ultrafialové oblasti spektra. Měřili jsme jak v části, kde je vrstva neuniformní, tak i v části, kde je vrstva uniformní. V neuniformní části jsme vrstvy měřili pro čtyři různá natočení v rovině vzorku. Pro analýzu dat jsme vyzkoušeli dva modely rozložení tlouštěk. První model byl model klínové neuniformity. V druhém jsme tloušťku vrstvy zadali pomocí polynomiální funkce souřadnic x,y v rovině vzorku. Optické konstanty polymerních vrstev byly popsány pomocí modelů parametrizujících dielektrickou funkci. Naměřená experimentální data jsme zpracovávali pomocí programu newAD2.

Abstract:

In this thesis, we study polymer thin films non-uniform in thickness. The main task of this work is the determination of thicknesses, optical constants and parameters describing the non-uniformity of the studied films. The experimental data were obtained using spectroscopic ellipsometry. The measurements were performed in the near infrared, visible and ultraviolet regions of the spectrum. Each samples was measured in the part where the film is non-uniform and also in the part where the film is uniform. In the non-uniform part, we measured the samples for four different orientations in the sample plane. For data analysis, we tried two models of thickness non-uniformity. One was a model of wedge-shaped non-uniformity. In the second model, the local thickness was given as the polynomial function of the coordinates x,y in the sample plane. The optical constants of the polymer layers were described using the models parametrizing the dielectric function. The experimental data were processed using the newAD2 software.
