Success of integration of pupils with autistic spectrum disorder to the general primary education class – viewpoint of the class teachers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá otázkou integrace žáků s poruchou autistického spektra do běžných ZŠ. Teoretická část seznamuje s aktéry integrace, vysvětluje rozdíly mezi pojmy integrace a inkluze, popisuje specifika poruch autistického spektra (PAS) a uvádí studie zabývající se různými aspekty této problematiky v České republice i v zahraničí. Ve výzkumné části jsou prezentovány výsledky kvalitativního šetření založeného na polo-strukturovaných rozhovorech s 5 třídními učiteli žáků s PAS. Rozhovory byly analyzovány pomocí jedné z technik zakotvené teorie – otevřeného kódování. Z rozhovorů vyplynulo 8 kategorií přestavující jejich nejdůležitější témata – emoční nestabilita, potřeba úspěchu, omezený zájem o sociální kontakt, odměřený vztah spolužáků směrem k žákovi s PAS, zvýšené nároky na učitele, odborné zázemí učitelů pro práci se žáky s PAS, ústřední role asistenta a podpora rodičů jako důležitý aspekt integrace. Pomocí těchto kategorií jsou popsány problémy, se kterými se učitelé setkávají a přiblížena současná situace integrace žáků s PAS.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with integration of pupils with autistic spectrum disorders to the general elementary school. Theoretical part introduces persons involved, explains the differences between integration and inclusion, describes autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) and refers to Czech and foreign studies of this issue. The research is qualitative, based on semi-structured interviews with 5 class teachers of ASD pupils. These interviews were analysed by using one of the techniques of grounded theory – open coding. The result is 8 categories, which describes the most important themes of the interviews – emotional instability, need for success, limited interest in social contact, reserved attitude towards classmates, increased demands on teacher, teacher’s professional base, key role of teaching assistant and parental support as important aspect of integration. By means of these categories are introduced problems, which teachers contend with and described current situation of integration of ASD pupils.
