The analysis of psychological contexts of alcohol and non-alcoholic drugs addiction treatment: the phenomenon of therapy diary

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje fenoménu terapeutického deníku v léčbě závislosti alkoholu a nealkoholových drog. Teoretická část práce poskytuje přehled současného poznání, který přibližuje problematiku závislosti, léčby závislosti a deníku jako terapeutického nástroje v léčbě závislosti. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaká je zkušenost pacientů v léčbě závislosti s fenoménem terapeutického deníku. V praktické části se prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se čtyřmi respondenty a analýzy dat pomocí interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy snažím popsat a pochopit zkušenost pacientů s deníkem. Z výsledků vyplývá, že pohled pacientů na deník se v průběhu léčby mění. Na jejím začátku k deníku přistupují s nejistotou a negativními emocemi, v průběhu léčby se s obsahem deníku více ztotožňují a dochází u nich k pochopení smyslu deníku. Obsah terapeutického deníku pacienti vnímají jako prostor pro zaměření se na sebe, motivaci a zároveň pro sdílení svých myšlenek a pocitů. Pacienti vítají zpětnou vazbu ke svým zápisům, a pokud není deníkům věnována dostatečná pozornost, vnímají to negativně.

Abstract:

This thesis focus on the phenomenon of therapeutic diary in the treatment of alcohol and non-alcoholic drugs.The theoretical part of the work provides an overview of actual knowledge, which introduces the issue of addiction, addiction treatment and diary as a therapeutic tool in addiction treatment. The aim of this work is to find out what is the experience of patients in the treatment of dependence with the phenomenon of therapeutic diary. In the practical part, through semi-structured interviews with four respondents and data analysis using interpretative phenomenological analysis, I try to describe and understand the experience of patients with diary. The results show that the patient's view of the diary changes during treatment. At the beginning, they approach the diary with uncertainty and negative emotions, during the treatment they identifying the contents of the diary and understanding the diary's meaning. Patients perceive the subject of the therapeutic diary as a space for focusing on themselves, motivating and sharing their thoughts and feelings. Patients appreciate feedback on their notes, and if the diaries are not given enough attention, they perceive it negatively.
