The analysis of the results of the election to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in the Litomerice district

Abstract:

Tato práce analyzuje výsledky voleb do Poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu ČR mezi lety 1996 a 2013. Celkem šest volebních let je rozebráno s detailním zaměřením na okres Litoměřice, který je rozdělen podle velikostní struktury obcí do pěti kategorií. V jednotlivých kategoriích jsou zkoumané změny v preferencích voličů a porovnání výsledků levicových a pravicových stran, včetně pohledu na tři stálé politické strany, které uspěly ve všech konaných volbách v historii České republiky. To vše je doplněno o teoretickou část, která vhodně uvede do problematiky týkající se této práce. Poslední volby do Poslanecké sněmovny v okrese Litoměřice vyhrála KSČM, coţ dokazuje postupný odklon od pravice k levici ve výsledcích okresu napříč volebními roky.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on analysing the results of elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic between the years 1996 and 2013. The total of six election years are analysed, with detailed focus on the Litomerice district, which is divided into five categories, based on the size of the municipalities. In each category, the voter preference shifts are examined, as well as the comparison of election results between left and right wing political parties. The thesis also offers a comparison between three stable political parties, which have succeeded in all elections in the history of the Czech Republic. This analysis is accompanied by a theoretical part, that serves as a useful introduction to the problematic of this thesis. The last elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in the Litomerice district were won by the Czech Communist party, which proves the gradual shift from right wing to left in this district's results over the last couple of election years.
