Teaching English to Pupils with Communication Disorders – Teachers’ Perspective

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou výuky anglického jazyka u dětí s narušenou komunikační schopností na běžné základní škole. Na téma je nazíráno skrze zkušenosti pedagogů. Práce je rozdělena do části teoretické a empirické. Tři teoretické kapitoly pojednávají o roli komunikace ve vyučování, žácích s NKS v kontextu výuky anglického jazyka a roli učitele v inkluzivním vzdělávání. Čtvrtá kapitola shrnuje metodologii šetření, obsahuje formulované výzkumné cíle a otázky, charakteristiku výzkumného vzorku i nástrojů sběru a analýzy dat, komentuje etiku výzkumu a obsahuje také reflexi výzkumníka. Pátou kapitolu tvoří analýza a interpretace získaných dat, diskuze, doporučení pro speciálně pedagogickou praxi a také limity výzkumu. Výzkumné šetření bylo realizováno jako kvalitativní a pro získání dat byly použity polostrukturované rozhovory.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of teaching English language to children with communication disorders in a mainstream primary school. The topic is viewed through the experiences of the teachers. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. Three theoretical chapters define the role of communication in the classroom, describe pupils with communication disorders in the context of English language learning, and characterise the role of the teacher in inclusive education. Chapter four summarises the methodology of the research and includes the research aims and questions, the characteristics of the research sample and the instruments of data collection and analysis. Furthermore, the chapter comments on the ethics of the research and includes a reflection on the research. Chapter five consists of data analysis and interpretation, discussion, and recommendations for special education practice, as well as the limitations of the research. The research was conducted as a qualitative study in which semistructured interviews were used to collect data.
