Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá, jak se lišila kvalita života uprchlých amerických otroků v závislosti na tom, kde se usadili: na severu Spojených státu, v Kanadě, nebo v Anglii. Toto je zodpovězeno pomocí analýzy autobiografických vyprávění Thomase Smallwooda, Samuela Warda a Fredericka Douglasse, kteří poskytují podrobné svědectví o životě Afroameričanů po útěku z otroctví. This thesis compares the post-slavery experiences of fugitive slaves who settled in different destinations, namely the North of the United States, Canada, and England. Autobiographical slave narratives by Thomas Smallwood, Samuel Ward, and Frederick Douglass provide a detailed account of the post-slavery life of African Americans.
