Program of psychosocial care for oncologically ill children

Abstract:

Předkládaný text teoretickoaplikačního charakteru řeší problematiku psychosociální péče v oblasti dětské onkologie. Autorka si klade za cíl analyzovat současné pojetí psychosociální péče o onkologicky nemocné děti v České republice, identifikovat její případné nedostatky a posléze navrhnout program psychosociální péče, který by mohl tyto nedostatky eliminovat. Autorka se nejprve snaží definovat pojem pacient s onkologickým onemocněním, dále se zabývá specifiky onkologického onemocnění z pohledu společnosti a specifiky onkologického pacienta, poté definuje dětského onkologického pacienta. V následující kapitole autorka popisuje péči o pacienty s onkologickým onemocněním a zabývá se vývojem psychosociální péče v medicíně, dále se věnuje psychosociální péči v onkologii a jejímu významu na dětských onkologických klinikách. Po té je popsán program psychosociální péče na dětských onkologiích a podoba psychosociální péče v dětské onkologické praxi. Následně jsou identifikovány nedostatky psychosociální péče na dětských onkologických klinikách, na které autorka reaguje v části aplikační, kde se snaží navrhnou vlastní program psychosociální péče, který by byl realizovatelný v místních podmínkách a tyto nedostatky vhodně eliminoval.

Abstract:

The presented application-theoretic text deals with the issue of psychosocial care of Pediatric Oncology. The author‘s aim is to analyze the present conception of psychosocial care for children oncology patients in Czech Republic, to identify it’s eventual shortcomings and to suggest such program of psychosocial care that would eleminate the shortcomings. The author first attempts to define the term of oncology patient, then deals with the specifics of such patient and the specifics of the society’s view on oncological disease, later the term of children oncology patient is defined. Throughout the next chapter the author describes the care for oncology patients, deals with how the psychosocial care has developed over time in Medicine, and also focuses on the psychosocial care in oncology and it’s importance at children’s Oncology. Later the program of psychosocial care at children’s Oncologies and it’s practical form is described. After that, the shortcomings of psychosocial care at children’s Oncologies are listed. The author reacts to them in the application part of the thesis, when she attempts to suggest a program, that can be realized under local condition, yet eliminated the mentioned shortcomings.
