Corporate Social Responsibility and its importance in the present

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se budu věnovat problematice společenské odpovědnosti firem z různých pohledů. V I. části diplomové práce nejprve v teoretické rovině objasňuji termín společenská odpovědnost firem a její význam v současnosti. Dále seznamuji s historickým vývojem CSR a přínosem CSR pro firmy i společnost. Představuji jednotlivé pilíře a rozdílné přístupy k CSR. Zmiňuji i způsoby měření a reportování CSR. Ve II. části aplikuji teoretické poznatky do praxe konkrétní firmy. S využitím obsahové analýzy a komparace hodnotím současnou úroveň uplatňování CSR a související aktivity ve třech společnostech - Skupina ČEZ, RWE Česká republika a E.ON. Cílem diplomové práce bude s využitím teoretických poznatků a na základě analýzy současného stavu v oblasti CSR a porovnání s konkurencí předložit návrhy na změny a zlepšení uplatňování CSR ve vybrané firmě.

Abstract:

In my diploma thesis, I will address the issue of corporate social responsibility from different perspectives. In the I. part of diploma thesis in theoretical level I first explain the term corporate social responsibility and its importance in the present. Further, I introduce the historical development of CSR and its benefits for businesses and society. I also represent the individual pillars and different approaches to CSR. And finally, I refer to ways of measuring and reporting in CSR. In the second part of thesis I apply theoretical findings into practice of a specific company. Using content analysis and comparison I evaluate the current level of implementation of CSR and related activities at three companies - CEZ Group, RWE and E.ON Czech Republic. The aim of the diploma thesis will be with the use of the theoretical knowledge and based on the analysis of the current state of the CSR field and the comparison with competitors to submit proposals for changes and improvement in the implementation of CSR in the selected company.
