Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu Evropského hlavního města kultury. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na proces spojený se ziskem tohoto titulu a chystanou kandidaturou města Brna na EHMK 2028. První část práce se soustřeďuje na historický vývoj soutěže, popis výběrového procesu a vysvětlení výběrových kritérií. Druhá část práce se zabývá analýzou zpráv z průběhu výběru minulých EHMK. The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the European Capital of Culture.
