Trading company analysis with a view to profitability increasing

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou obchodního podniku na trhu stavebního materiálu. Stavebnictví se obecně přisuzuje schopnost částečně předvídat celkový vývoj ekonomiky dané země. Současný stav tohoto odvětví se potýká s četnými problémy. Dle průzkumů a předpovědí odborných organizací vykazuje oblast stavebnictví pokles od roku 2009, zpomalení poklesu by mělo probíhat do roku 2013 a první růst by se měl v České republice objevit v roce 2014. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému objasnění principů různých druhů analýzy společnosti. Druhá, praktická část, se věnuje analýze účetních výkazů, ze kterých jsou vyvozeny hlavní problémy bránící zvýšení ziskovosti společnosti. Po odhalení těchto problémů práce navrhuje opatření, která by měla vést právě ke zvýšení hodnoty ukazatele ROE. Mezi návrhy práce zazněla například specializace skladů společnosti, zavedení obchodní spolupráce, změna systému odměňování zaměstnanců či změna v reklamní kampani společnosti. Tato opatření jsou vyčíslena do zjednodušené tabulky výkazu zisku a ztráty, kde demonstrují důsledky realizace mnou navržených opatření. Ty jsou uvedeny pro tři možné varianty vývoje růstu tržeb ? pesimistickou, realistickou a optimistickou

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the analysis of a business enterprise in the building materials market. Civil engineering is generally thought to be able to partially anticipate the overall development of national economics. Currently, this sector is facing numerous problems. According to surveys and forecasts conducted by professional organisations, civil engineering has been in decline since 2009. The inhibited decline should continue until 2013 and the first growth in the Czech Republic should occur in 2014. The first part of the thesis outlines the theoretical principles of various analyses of a business enterprise. The second, practical part, analyses account sheets. Based on the accounting analysis I have derived the main problems that prevent a company from increasing its profitability. Having identified the problems, I propose measures that should increase the ROE indices. The ideas proposed by the thesis were, for example, to establish specialised stores for the company, to introduce business cooperation, to change the system of employee remuneration and to change the advertising campaign of the company. The measures are shown in a simplified profit and loss account sheet to demonstrate the effects of implementing the steps proposed by me. These have been identified for three possible options of increasing sales ? pessimistic, realistic and optimistic.
