Application of the Method Video Home Training in the Care of Seniors

Abstract:

Rigorózní práce se zabývá metodou videotrénink interakcí a možnostmi jejího využití v péči o seniory. V teoretické části práce je popsána problematika stárnutí a stáří, demografie stáří, sociální práce a poradenství. Pozornost je zaměřena na komplexní zdravotní a sociální péči o seniory a na roli multidisciplinárního týmu. Práce obsahuje kapitolu týkající se demence (incidence a prevalence, rozdělení demencí, stádia, diagnostika a léčba). Následující kapitola je věnována komunikaci se seniory a zásadám komunikace s lidmi s demencí. Stěžejní kapitola týkající se metody videotrénink interakcí zahrnuje historii a vznik této metody, teoretická východiska, způsob práce a etické zásady, oblasti využití a činnost organizace SPIN-sdružení pro videotrénink interakcí v ČR. Cílem výzkumu v praktické části práce bylo popsat a analyzovat možnosti využití metody videotrénink interakcí v oblasti péče o seniory s demencí v domově pro seniory se zvláštním režimem. Druhým cílem bylo zjistit, zda pracovníci v domovech pro seniory se zvláštním režimem mají zájem o využití metody VTI při výkonu své profese. Třetím cílem bylo zjistit, s jakými obtížemi se pracovníci v domovech pro seniory se zvláštním režimem potýkají v oblasti péče a komunikace se seniory s demencí. Čtvrtým cílem bylo navrhnout řešení a doporučení pro praxi týkající se obtíží souvisejících s využitím a aplikací metody VTI v sociální práci se seniory. Rigorózní práce obsahuje diskusi k získaným výsledkům, závěr a doporučení pro praxi ohledně aplikace metody VTI do péče o seniory.

Abstract:

The Rigorosis Diploma Thesis deals with the Video Home Training (VHT) method and its application in the care of seniors. The theoretical part describes the issue of aging and old age, age demographics, social work and counseling. Attention is focused on complex health and social care for seniors and the role of the multidisciplinary team. The thesis includes a chapter on dementia (incidence and prevalence, distribution dementia, stages, diagnosis and treatment).The following chapter is devoted to communication with seniors and principles of communication with people with dementia. The key chapter concerning the Video Home Training method involves interaction history and the origin of this method, theoretical background, working methods and ethical principles, the use and operation of the organization SPIN - Association for Video Home Training method in the Czech Republic. The aim of research in the practical part of the thesis was to describe and analyze the possibility of using Video Home Training method in the care of seniors with dementia in a nursing home with specific regime. The second objective was to determine whether workers in nursing home with specific regime are interested in using VHT methods in the performance of their profession. The third objective was to determine what problems workers in nursing homes with specific regime faced in care and communication with seniors with dementia. The fourth objective was to propose solutions and recommendations for practice regarding the difficulties associated with the use and application of the VHT method in social work with seniors. The Rigorosis Diploma Thesis includes a discussion of the obtained results, conclusions and recommendations for practice regarding the application of the VHT method to care for seniors.
