Costs of caring for people with Autism depending on the age of the affected person

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vyhodnocením nákladů na poruchy autistického spektra v závislosti na věku postiženého v podmínkách České republiky. Teoretickým východiskem hodnocení nákladů je metoda Cost of Illnes. Práce popi-suje její základní principy, zdroje dat a kategorie nákladů, které metoda rozlišuje. Práce shrnuje poznatky o poruchách autistického spektra, projevech a problémech postižených, diagnostice, klasifikaci a hodnocení nemoci, léčbě a péči, epidemiologii, dopadech na rodiny a o možnostech čerpání příspěvků a dávek státní sociální pod-pory. Práce též obsahuje přehled výzkumů v dané oblasti. Blíže se zaměřuje na možné náklady, které nemoc vyvolává dle jednotlivých kategorií. Výsledkem analýzy je kalkulace nákladů metodou Cost of Illnes ve vyšších stupních závislosti na péči v podmínkách ČR v pěti věkových kohortách.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the costs of autism spectrum disorders depending on the age of the affected person in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The theoretical starting point for cost evaluation is the Cost of Illness method. The thesis describes its basic principles, data sources and cost categories that the method distinguishes. The work summarizes knowledge about autism spectrum disorders, manifestations and problems of the affected, diagnosis, classification and assessment of the disease, treatment and care, epidemiology, effects on families and the possibilities of drawing state social support benefits and benefits. The thesis also contains an overview of research in the given area. It focuses more closely on the possible costs caused by the disease according to individual categories. The result of the analysis is the calculation of costs using the Cost of Illness method in higher degrees of dependence on care in the conditions of the Czech Republic in five age cohorts.
