Introduction of euro currency in the Czech Republic - preparedness and implications for the business sphere (application)

Abstract:

Abstrakt Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na strukturu a způsob fungování Evropského měnového systému, význam měny euro, na možné fungování jednotné měny v České republice a zejména na připravenost a důsledky pro podnikovou sféru v České republice. Cílem této práce je nastínit změny v ekonomickém systému České republiky po vstupu do EMU, ekonomické dopady členství a jeho výhody a nevýhody společně s využíváním eura. První část je věnována vývoji Evropského měnového systému a zavedení jednotné měny Euro. Dále je pozornost zaměřena na Evropskou centrální banku, která hraje klíčovou roli v evropském měnovém systému. Praktická část pojednává o členství v evropské měnové unii a poukazuje na jeho výhody a nevýhody. Jako příklad je uvedeno zavedení měny Euro na Slovensku. Součástí praktické části je také analýza SWOT, která je aplikována na podnikatelskou sféru České republiky.

Abstract:

Abstract This master‘s thesis is focused on the meaning of the European Union, the structure and functioning of the European monetary system, the meaning of the euro currency, the possible functioning of the common currency in the Czech Republic and mainly on the preparedness and implications for the business sphere in the Czech republic. Objective of this thesis is to outline the changes in the economic system of the Czech Republic after its entry to the European monetary union, the economic impacts of membership and its advantages and disadvantages together with usage of the euro currency. The first part of this thesis is dedicated to development of the European monetary system and implementation of euro currency. Furthermore the thesis is focused on European Central Bank which plays the main role in the European monetary system. The practical part handles the matters of the membership in European Monetary Union and points out its advantages and disadvantages. Slovakia serves as an example of a country that introduced the Euro currency. A piece of the practical part is a SWOT analysis, which is applied on the business sphere of the Czech Republic.
