Children's rights in the view of children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem práv dětí z pohledu dětí, zda děti vědí,co je to Úmluva o právech dítěte. Hlavním cílem práce je zhodnotit, zda mladí lidé znají existenci tohoto důležitého dokumentu a jak vnímají dodržování svých práv. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části je pozornost věnována historii dětských práv a jejich postupnému vývoji až do současnosti, syndrom týraného, zneužívaného a zanedbávaného dítěte (z anglického Child Abuse and Neglect), dále budou identifikovány aktuální dokumenty týkající se práv dítěte. Prostor bude věnován i právům dětí ve školském prostředí a jak se vzdělávání dětí vyvíjelo od minulosti až do současnosti. Praktická část bude zkoumat povědomí žáků základní školy o Úmluvě o právech dítěte a jejich schopnost reagovat v případě porušení svých práv. Taktéž bude zkoumáno prostřednictvím krátkého dotazníku, zda základní školy informují své žáky o jejich právech a jak v případě porušení práv dětí postupují. Cílem této práce je přispět k lepšímu pochopení problematiky práv dětí, představit historii a aktuální stav těchto práv a prověřit, nakolik jsou tato práva respektována v praxi.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of children's rights from the perspective of children, whether children know what the Convention on the Rights of the Child is. The main aim of the thesis is to assess whether young people know the existence of this important document and how they perceive their rights to be respected. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, attention is paid to the history of children's rights and their gradual development up to the present day, the CAN syndrome, and current documents related to children's rights will be identified. Space will also be devoted to children's rights in the school environment. The practical part will explore primary school pupils' awareness of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and their ability to respond in the event of a violation of their rights. It will also examine, through a short questionnaire, whether primary schools inform their pupils about their rights and what they do in case of violations of children's rights. The aim of this paper is to contribute to a better understanding of children's rights, to present the history and current status of these rights and to examine the extent to which these rights are respected in practice.
