The main aim of this thesis is to analyze translation of proper names in literary pieces of French realist and as well naturalist authors of 19th century. Within the scope of the paper, 29 translations - from two different periods - have been analysed: 14 from the mid 1920s and 15 from the mid 1960s. Tato diplomová práce si klade za cíl analyzovat překlad vlastních jmen v dílech francouzských realistů a naturalistů 19. století. V rámci této práce bylo analyzováno 29 překladů ze dvou období – 14 z nich pochází z první poloviny dvacátých let dvacátého století a 15 zbývajících pochází z první poloviny šedesátých let.
