Ethics in funeral services

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce věnující se dodržování etiky v oboru pohřebnictví a domovech důchodců. V dnešním uspěchaném světě, kdy se každý žene za bohatstvím, se vytrácí slušnost a morálka. Pro demonstraci jsem si vybrala obor pohřebnictví, ve kterém je porušování etiky mnohem znatelnější a pro lidi zranitelnější. První část bakalářské práce, se věnuje etice, morálce, etickému kodexu a jejich propojení s ekonomikou. Pokládám si otázku, zda je vůbec možné chovat se eticky a zároveň dodržet zlaté pravidlo maximalizace zisku? Ve druhé časti této práce, se zabývám vzdělávání v oboru pohřebnictví a především organizacemi, které v tomto oboru působí a zasluhují se o jeho vzkvétání. V poslední části jsou uvedeny návrhy, jak na zlepšení Kodexu cti pohřebnictví, tak na to, aby se na základě různých opatření dostal tento kodex do podvědomí zaměstnanců i ostatních lidí. Nakonec jsou uvedeny návrhy pro etiky kodex v domovech pro seniory a podněty, jak zlepšit úroveň poskytovaných služeb v těchto zařízeních.

Abstract:

This BA Diploma thesis deals with respecting ethics in the field of funeral services and retirement homes. In the current busy world with people chasing after wealth, the values such as politeness and morality gradually disappear. In order to demonstrate the phenomenon, I chose the field of funeral services, in which the violation of ethics is much more obvious and more vulnerable for people. The first part of the thesis addresses the questions of ethics, morality, ethical code and their connection to economics. There is raised the question whether it is possible to behave ethically and at the same time to follow the golden rule of maximizing the profit. In the second part of this thesis, I inquire into the education in the funeral services and primarily into the organizations operating in this field and contributing to its thriving. In the last part, there are proposed not only some improvements of the Code ... but also various measures to raise staff and people's awareness to the code. Finally, there are stated the proposals for the ethical code in the retirement homes and inducements for improving the level of provided services in these institutions.
