The problematics of dry eye syndrome in the optometrist practise

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je problematika syndromu suchého oka, jeho diagnostika a možnosti léčby v praxi optometristy. Toto onemocnění je v současné době velice časté a snižuje kvalitu pacientova života. První kapitoly popisují anatomii očních struktur, které jsou pro pochopení problematiky syndromu suchého oka důležité. Dále obsahuje stručné shrnutí poznatků o tomto onemocnění a jeho klasifikaci. Pátá kapitola je řazena chronologicky tak jako obvyklé optometristické vyšetření a poukazuje na situace, při kterých nejčastěji vyvstane podezření na syndrom suchého oka. Následující kapitoly se věnují různým metodám vyšetření, které závisí na přístrojovém vybavení pracoviště optometristy. Závěrem této bakalářské práce jsou shrnuty možnosti léčby, které mohou být navrhnuty přímo optometristou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on problematics of dry eye syndrome in the optometrist practise, its diagnosis and treatment options in the practise of optometrist. This disease is currently very common and reduces the quality of the patient´s life. The first chapters of this thesis are about anatomy of the eye structures that are important for understanding the problem of dry eye syndrome. It also contains a brief summary of the knowledge of this disease and its classification. The fifth chapter is ranked chronologically as the usual optometrist examination and points out situations in which dry eye syndrome is most likely to arise. The following chapters deal with different methods of examination, which depend on the equipment of the optometrist´s workplace. The conclusion of this thesis summarizes the treatment options that can be designed directly by the optometrist.
