Political instability in the Czech Republic and its influence on the development of the PX index on the PSE (Prague Stock Exchange)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem vybraných politických událostí spojených s politickou nestabilitou během let 1996-2019 na vývoj indexu PX na Burze cenných papírů Praha. Cílem je potvrdit či vyvrátit hypotézu, že finanční trhy v České republice reagují v průběhu let na politickou nestabilitu v čase méně citlivě, neboť hlasování o důvěře a nedůvěře do demokracie naprosto patří a investoři se ho na pražské burze naučili brát jako standardní prvek pluralitní demokracie. Vliv byl sledován a hodnocen pro každý typ politických událostí zvlášť v nastavených časových periodách. Přínosem práce je předpověď budoucí reakce burzovního indexu PX pro období, kdy opět dojte k událostem spojených s politickou nestabilitou, vydefinovanou v této práci.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with the influence of selected political events related to political instability during 1996-2019 on the development of the PX index at the Prague Stock Exchange. The aim is to confirm or disprove the hypothesis that financial markets in the Czech Republic have reacted less sensitively over the years to political instability over time, because the vote of confidence and distrust is entirely part of democracy and investors have learned to regard it as a standard element of pluralistic democracy on the Prague Stock Exchange. Influence was monitored and evaluated for each type of political event separately in set time periods. The benefit of the work is the prediction of the future reaction of the stock market index PX for the period when you arrive again at the events associated with political instability, defined in this work.
