Strategic Analysis of Tinkoff bank in the Russian banking market

Abstract:

The thesis includes the analysis of a popular Russian bank “Tinkoff” in the local market. It contains a combination of various facts: the history and prerequisites for the appearance of the bank, market positioning, the characteristics of the bank, the change of leadership, the strategic aspects of doing this type of business, the general market situation. In the thesis are also used some special methods of strategic analysis: SWOT analysis, Pestel analysis, Porter's five Forces model, Stakeholder analysis, VRIO analysis, financial performance analysis. The work is divided into 2 parts Theoretical and Practical. The theoretical part describes each of the methods used, while the Practical part applies those methods to the “Tinkoff” bank. The purpose of the thesis is to assess the current position of the company in the context of an ever-changing environment, as well as recommendations for improving management, which ideally would entail strengthening the competitive position of the bank.
