The analysis and attitudes of seniors in a residential facility during a pandemic covid 19

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, jak senioři v pobytovém zařízení vnímají situaci nucené izolace od své rodiny, kterou vyvolal Covid-19 ve vztahu před koronavirovým sociálním kontaktem. Bakalářská práce má za cíl seznámit se s koronavirovou krizí pandemie COVID-19, popsat historii pandemie, její specifikaci a specifikaci vztahující se k protiepidemickým opatřením Ministerstva zdravotnictví ČR. Bakalářská práce představuje vhled do nově vzniklé problematiky pandemie Covid-19. Popisuje doporučené postupy při podezření onemocnění Covidem-19 v pobytové sociální službě podle Asociace poskytovatelů sociálních služeb (APSS ČR) včetně Zákonu č.258/2021 Sb. o ochraně veřejného zdraví a o změně některých souvisejících předpisů. Nastíněna je také problematika Ageismu vůči starým lidem, jenž v době pandemie velmi zesílil u mladší generace v globálním celosvětovém měřítku, zejména v Evropě. Zde jsou popsány aspekty výzkumu z Brazílie reagující na zesílení Ageismu v Evropě, které ukazují na vzrůstající diskriminaci seniorů především u mladší generace, ve zdravotnických službách, jednáních na úřadech, ale i častější osamocení seniorů během pandemie v důsledku omezení sociálních kontaktů a vazeb vládními nařízeními jednotlivých států. V dalších kapitolách práce jsou popsány a vymezeny pojmy jako je senior a stáří, krize ve vztahu k seniorům, zátěžové situace, rozhovor, postoj, sociální vyloučení, sociální izolace, sociální fungování a sociální začlenění. Přínosem práce je analýza vnímání postojů jednotlivých seniorů na sociální izolaci od své rodiny během pandemie COVID-19. Hlavní přínos bakalářské práce spočívá v aplikaci předvýzkumu expertních rozhovorů se seniory v pobytovém zařízení, kteří se ústně vyjadřují ke zkoumanému jevu. Aplikační část bakalářské práce popisuje analýzu problému z praxe včetně diskuse. V této části je představena pobytová sociální služba, určení hypotéz, popis otázek expertních rozhovorů pro seniory, tvorba kazuistik a následná jejich komparace. Poslední část je věnována zanalyzování postojů seniorů na otázku vnímání sociální izolace během pandemie COVID-19 vedoucí ke zmapování celkové situace. V závěru jsou uvedeny konkrétní postupy pro sociální pracovníky a pracovníky v sociálních službách zamezující sociální izolaci seniorů v pobytovém zařízení během pandemie a navržení postupů pro sociální pracovníky, studenty směřující k eliminaci krizových a negativních jevů při práci se seniory včetně zhodnocení bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out how seniors in a residential facility perceive the situation of forced isolation from their family that Covid-19 has caused in their relationship prior to the coronavirus social contact. The bachelor thesis aims to learn about the coronavirus crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic, describe the history of the pandemic, its specification and the specification related to the anti-epidemic regulations of the Ministry of Health. The bachelor thesis presents an insight into the newly emerging issue of the Covid-19 pandemic. It describes the recommended procedures for suspicion of Covid-19 disease in a residential social service according to the Association of Providers of Social Services (APSS CR), including the Act No. 258/2021 Coll. on the Protection of Public Health and on amendments to certain related regulations. It also outlines the issue of ageism towards the elderly, which has become much stronger among the younger generation in the pandemic on a global scale, especially in Europe. Here, aspects of research from Brazil responding to the intensification of Ageism in Europe are described, showing the increasing discrimination against the elderly, especially among the younger generation, in health services, in dealings with authorities, as well as the increased isolation of the elderly during the pandemic due to the restriction of social contacts and ties by national government regulations. The following chapters describe explaining terms such as senior and old age, COVID19, interview, attitudes, but I will also describe social isolation, the crisis in relation to the elderly, and social exclusion, social functioning and social inclusion. I will also portray ageism in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has intensified in society among people in this country and in the world. Comparing the number of infected people in Brazil with the Czech Republic. I will also touch marginally on research that has been conducted in Brazil in 2020. In the application part, I will present a residential service where I will conduct pre-research interviews. I will also describe the interview questions I will ask the seniors. I will establish hypotheses that will allow me to test the data from the exit interviews with seniors. I will explain case studies, called interviews, that will either confirm or refute my hypotheses. I will also compare these case studies using a comparison table. In the final part I will describe the procedures for social workers, students aimed at eliminating negative and crisis phenomena in social work with the elderly and an overall evaluation of my work.
