Awareness of the European Union Funds among the Czech Public: Analysis of Factors and Recommendations to Increase Awareness

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá informovaností české veřejnosti o fondech Evropské unie, s důrazem na identifikaci faktorů ovlivňujících tuto informovanost a návrh doporučení pro její zvýšení. Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit míru informovanosti české veřejnosti o fondech Evropské unie, dílčím cílem je identifikovat faktory, které ovlivňují informovanost české veřejnosti. Teoretická část práce poskytuje přehled o fondech EU, jejich historickém vývoji, právním rámci a problematice spojené s trestnými činy dotačního podvodu a poškozování finančních zájmů EU. Praktická část se zaměřuje na kvantitativní výzkum informovanosti veřejnosti prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření, jehož výsledky byly vyhodnocovány pomocí regresní analýzy, deskriptivní statistiky a ANOVA testů. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že vzdělání je klíčovým faktorem ovlivňujícím informovanost o EU fondech, zatímco pohlaví se neprokázalo jako významný faktor. Na základě těchto zjištění jsou navržena doporučení pro zlepšení informovanosti veřejnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the awareness of the Czech public about EU funds, with an emphasis on the identification of factors affecting this awareness and the proposal of recommendations for its increase. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to determine the level of awareness of the Czech public about the European Union funds, with the sub-objective of identifying factors that influence the awareness of the Czech public. The theoretical part of the thesis provides an overview of EU funds, their historical development, legal framework and issues related to the crimes of subsidy fraud and damage to EU financial interests. The practical part focuses on quantitative research of public awareness through a questionnaire survey, the results of which were evaluated using regression analysis, descriptive statistics and ANOVA tests. The results show that education is a key factor influencing awareness of EU funds, while gender did not prove to be a significant factor. Based on these findings, recommendations for improving public awareness are proposed.
