Media image of domestic violence during the Covid 19 pandemic in the years 2020 - 2021 in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Autorka bakalářské práce si klade za cíl za pomocí metody kvantitativní obsahové analýzy na předem stanoveném výběru českých internetových médií hlavního proudu zmapovat mediální obraz domácího násilí v kontextu událostí souvisejících s pandemií koronaviru v rámci České republiky. Jako časový rámec bylo zvoleno období od 1.3.2020 do 31.12.2021. Tedy počátek zavádění restrikcí v souvislosti s pandemickou situací a ukončování omezení s pozvolným rozvolněním do té doby platících nařízení. Vybranými internetovými médii jsou weby ct.24.ceskatelevize.cz, iDnes.cz, iRozhlas.cz, eXtra.cz, Blesk.cz a Ahaonline.cz. V první části práce jsou vymezeny teoretické pojmy z oblasti a problematiky domácího násilí za použití odborné literatury o domácím násilí. Následující teoretická část je vyhrazena tématu teorie mediální a sociální konstrukce reality, ze které práce vychází. Další část práce je věnována metodologii a závěrečná část se věnuje vlastní analýze výzkumných otázek a výstupních dat, které jsou zpracovány v tabulkách a grafech.

Abstract:

The author of the bachelor thesis aims to chart the media image of domestic violence in a context of events related to the coronavirus pandemic in the Czech Republic using the quantitative content analysis method on a predefined selection of a Czech internet mainstream media. The time frame chosen was the period from 1 March 2020 to 31 December 2021, i.e. the beginning of the restrictions connected to the pandemic situation and the end of the restrictions with a gradual loosening of the regulations in force until then. The selected internet media are the websites ct.24.ceskatelevize.cz, iDnes.cz, iRozhlas.cz, eXtra.cz, Blesk.cz and Ahaonline.cz. The theoretical terms from the field and problematics of domestic violence using the literature on domestic violence are defined in the first part of the thesis. The following theoretical part is devoted to the topic of the theory of media and social construction of reality, on which the thesis is based. The next part of the thesis is focused on the methodology and the final part is devoted to the analysis of the research questions and the output data, which are presented in tables and graphs.
