Geotourism as a form of sustainable tourism

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je geoturismus jako jedna z nových forem cestovního ruchu. Zadání mé balalářské práce je následující: „Na příkladu jednoho českého geoparku analyzovat možnosti rozvoje geoturismu z hlediska udržitelného cestovního ruchu.“ Ve své práci se budu zabývat analýzou geoparku UNESCO Český ráj pomocí lokalizačních a realizačních předpokladů a také pomocí řešerše zdrojů a literatury, dotazníkového šetření, popisné statistiky, řízeného rozhovoru, terénního průzkumu včetně fotodokumentace. Práce je rozdělená na tři částí: teoretickou, analytickou a návrhovou. V teoretické části rozebírám pojmy jako je označení cestovního ruchu, jeho atributy, formy a druhy a také pojem geoturismus a jeho složky. Vysvětluji také, co jsou geoparky, jaké mají vlastností, jakou mají mezi sebou soudržnost a v jakých organizacích. Analytická část práce je založena na metodách zkoumání. Mezi metody zkoumání patří především vlastní výzkum, jakým je návštěva geoparku a jeho poznávání pomocí empirické metody, konkretně pomocí terénního a kvalitativního průzkumu, dotazníkového šetření a to jak osobního dotazování, tak i pomocí internetu a také řízeného rozhovoru s ředitelkou Sdružení geoparku Český ráj. Analytická část má v sobě detailní popis geoparku UNESCO Český ráj, prostřednictvím lokalizačních a realizačnách předpokladů. V lokalizačních předpokladech popsáno přírodní bohatství geoparku, jeho charakteristika, kulturní atraktivity a sportovní akce. Byla provedena také důkladná analýza turistického potenciálu tří krajů na příkladě tří nejvýznamnějších měst pro geopark (Turnov, Jičín a Mladá Boleslav), dle pochopení jak se a který region a město snaží udržet turisty v geoparku. V realizačních předpokladech byly zpracovány komunikační možnosti geoparku - ubytovací a stravovací zařízení, podrobné seznámení s pěší a cykloturistikou, rozbor počtů informačních center geoparku, poptávky po něj a srovnání návštěvnosti nejpopulárnějších turistických cílů v Českém ráji. Návrhová část práce slouží jako pochopení a doporučení pro řešení problemů geoparku a tím zvýšení jeho významu, známosti, bezpečnosti a oblíbenosti a to jak v rámci ČR, tak i na světové turistické mápě.

Abstract:

The subject of the bachelor thesis is geotourism as one of the new forms of tourism. The assignment of my bachelor thesis is as follows: "on the example of one Czech geopark to analyze the possibilities of developing geotourism in terms of sustainable tourism." The basis of the work is an analysis of localization and implementation assumptions of the selected destination. In my work, I will deal with the analysis of the UNESCO Bohemian Paradise Geopark using localization and implementation assumptions and also through the sources and literature, questionnaire survey, descriptive statistics, guided interview, field research, including photo documentation. The work is divided into three parts: theoretical, analytical, and design. In the theoretical part, I analyze concepts such as the designation of tourism, its attributes, forms and types, I analyze the concept of geotourism and its components. I also discuss what a geopark is, what its characteristics are, what cohesion they have in each other, and in which organizations. The analytical part of the work is based on methods which includes my research, such as a visititing the geopark and also via empirical methods, specifically through the field and qualitative research, questionnaire survey, both personal interviews and the Internet, as well as conducted interviews with the director of the geopark association Czech paradise. The analytical part has a detailed description of the UNESCO geopark Bohemian Paradise by localization and implementation assumptions. The natural conditions of the geopark, its characteristics, cultural attractions and sports events are described in the localization assumptions. A thorough analysis of the tourist potential of the three regions was also performed on the example of the three most important cities for the geopark (Turnov, Jičín and Mladá Boleslav), according to the understanding of which region and city is trying to keep tourists in the geopark. In the implementation, were processed the geopark communication possibilities, accommodation and catering facilities, detailed acquaintance with hiking and cycling, analysis of information centers number, their attendance and its comparison with of the most popular tourist destinations in the Bohemian Paradise. The design part of the work serves as an understanding and recommendations for solving certain problems of the geopark to increase importance, familiarity, safety and popularity not only within the Czech Republic but also on the world tourist map.
