Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem komunikační kompetence v hodinách anglického jazyka. Konkrétně je tato práce cílená na rozvoj lexikální kompetence u žáků prvního stupně základní školy. Teoretická část nejprve vysvětluje záležitost komunikační kompetence a její dělení. Dále poté řeší otázku významu slov a slovotvorby a zasazuje informace do kontextu výuky základního vzdělávání.
