The issue of cyberbullying and the possibility of its prevention

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o problematice kyberšikany a možnostech její prevence. V první části se zaměřuje na vysvětlení základních pojmů, které s touto problematikou souvisejí. Jsou zde vymezeny projevy kyberšikany a faktory, které ovlivňují její vznik. V další kapitole je kyberšikana srovnána s klasickou šikanou, jsou zde nastíněny rozdíly v profilech obětí a útočníků a rozdíly v prostředí, v kterém se tyto formy ubližování odehrávají. Výše uvedené teoretické informace jsou aplikovány v následující části, ve které jsou popsány světové kauzy kyberšikany, ale i případy, které se staly v České republice. Jsou zde zmíněny kyberútoky pácháné na pedagozích, protože se toto téma stává stále více aktuálním i u nás. Poslední část je zaměřena na prevenci na školách. Je zde návrh toho, co by měl obsahovat preventivní program, aby byl na školách efektivní. Součástí práce je výzkumné šetření realizované prostřednictvím anonymního dotazníku, který byl určený žákům středních škol v Plzni. Pomocí šetření se zjišťovala informovanost žáků o kyberšikaně, otázky byly zaměřeny i na vlastní zkušenost respondentů s touto problematikou. Dotazník také zjišťoval aktivitu školských zařízení v oblasti prevence kyberšikany ze subjektivního pohledu žáků.

Abstract:

The presented thesis focuses on the issues of cyberbullying and possibilities of its prevention. Firstly, the thesis discusses the related terminology, defines the features of cyberbullying and the factors affecting its occurrence. Secondly, the paper offers a comparison between cyberbullying and "traditional" bullying, focusing essentially on the differences in profiles of victims and offenders and in environments where either type of maltreatment occurs. Such theoretical background is then applied in the following part where the cases of cyber-bullying from around the globe and from the Czech Republic are analyzed. The thesis also discusses cyber attacks on pedagogues that are becoming more and more frequent. The third part of the thesis focuses on the possibilities of effective prevention in schools. This section also contains a survey among high school students in Plzeň based on anonymous questionnaire. The survey concerned students' knowledge of and experience with cyberbullying and asked about the preventive programs currently in place in schools.
