The impact of specific learning disability on the psyche of university students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku specifických poruch učení u vysokoškolských studentů a jejich vlivem na psychiku. Cílem diplomové práce je celistvě pojmout problematiku specifických poruch učení a jejich vliv na psychiku studentů vysokých škol v průběhu jejich studia. V teoretické části se věnujeme charakteristice specifických poruch učení u dospělých jedinců. Popisovány zde jsou projevy jednotlivých specifických poruch učení, jejich klasifikace a diagnostika. Zaměříme se také na podporu vysokoškolských studentů se specifickými poruchami učení. Dále je pozornost věnována problematice resilience, psychické odolnosti u jedinců se specifickými poruchami učení v průběhu jejich studia na vysoké škole. Pro výzkumnou část práce byla zvolena metoda kvantitativního výzkumu. Použité dotazníky byly zaměřeny na zkušenosti studentů se specifickými poruchami učení se studiem, na sebepojetí a odolnost. Zkoumaným vzorkem byli studenti vysokých škol, kteří mají diagnostikovány specifické poruchy učení, ale také jedinci, kteří se se specifickými poruchami učení nepotýkají. Cílem výzkumné části bylo zjistit, do jaké míry ovlivňují specifické poruchy učení psychiku jedince, konkrétně jeho sebehodnocení, sebeúčinnost a resilienci. Tato zjištění byla posléze porovnána s jedinci, kterým specifické poruchy učení nebyly diagnostikovány.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the problems of specific learning disabilities in university students and their influence on psyche. The aim of the diploma thesis is to integrate issues of specific learning disabilities and their influence on the psyche of university students during their studies. In the theoretical part, we describe the characteristics of specific learning disorders in adult individuals. Described here are the manifestations of specific learning disorders, their classification and diagnostics. We will also focus on supporting higher education students with specific learning disabilities. Further attention is paid to the issue of resilience, psychological resistance in individuals with specific learning disabilities during their studies at college. The method of quantitative research was chosen for the research part of the thesis. The questionnaires used were focused on the experiences of students with specific learning difficulties, self-esteem and resilience. The studied sample was the university students who have been diagnosed with specific learning disabilities, but also individuals who do not have specific learning disorders. The aim of the research part was to find out to what extent the specific disorders of learning the individual's psyche affect his self-esteem, self-efficacy and resilience. These findings were then compared with individuals whose specific learning disabilities were not diagnosed.
