Energy literacy of pupils and students at elementary and secondary schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na téma energetické gramotnosti žáků a studentů na základních a středních školách. Hlavním cílem je prozkoumat vliv pracovních listů na pochopení problematiky a znalosti studentů v oblasti energetiky. Teoretická část práce je strukturována do pěti kapitol energie, neobnovitelné zdroje energie, obnovitelné zdroje energie, distribuce a přenos a energetika a vliv na životní prostředí. Tyto kapitoly slouží jako základ pro vytvoření pracovních listů, které jsou následně využity k sestavení dvou odlišných testů. Prvního pro základní a druhého pro střední školy. Výzkumná část práce zahrnuje metodu pre-testů a post-testů s týdenním odstupem pro studium pracovních listů mezi oběma fázemi testování. Cílem je zkoumat změny v znalostech studentů. K analýze dat získaných z pre-testů a post-testů je využit statistický software Past 4.04, což umožňuje porovnat vliv pracovních listů na energetickou gramotnost studentů. Na závěr jsou studenti dotázáni pomocí evaluačního dotazníku, aby se zjistilo, jak vnímají přínos pracovních listů. Výsledky této práce umožňují porovnat úroveň znalostí studentů před a po použití pracovních listů a poskytují důkaz o efektivitě pracovních listů ve zlepšování energetické gramotnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the topic of energy literacy of pupils and students in primary and secondary schools. The main aim is to investigate the impact of worksheets on students' understanding and knowledge of energy issues. The theoretical part of the thesis is structured into five chapters energy, non-renewable energy sources, renewable energy sources, distribution and transmission, and energy and environmental impact. These chapters serve as the basis for the development of worksheets, which are then used to construct two different tests. The first for primary schools and the second for secondary schools. The research part of the work involves a method of pre-tests and post-tests with a one-week interval to study the worksheets between the two phases of testing. The aim is to investigate the changes in students' knowledge. The statistical software Past 4.04 is used to analyze the data obtained from the pre-tests and post-tests, which allows to compare the effect of the worksheets on the students' energy literacy. Finally, students are surveyed using an evaluation questionnaire to determine their perceptions of the benefits of the worksheets. The results of this work allow a comparison of students' knowledge levels before and after using the worksheets and provide evidence of the effectiveness of the worksheets in improving energy literacy.
