The situation of the parents of the children with intellectual disability

Anotace:

Anotace: V předložené disertační práci se zabýváme situací rodičů dětí s mentálním postižením, kterou jsme podrobili kvalitativnímu zkoumání. Teoretickou základnu práce jsme postavili na problematice situací zátěže a jejich zvládání, na vymezení mentální retardace a rodiny, konkrétně i rodiny s dětmi s mentálním postižením. Cílem výzkumu bylo dozvědět se co nejvíce o životě těchto lidí a na jeho základě předložit popis situace a formulovat konkrétní doporučení k této situaci využitelná pro laickou i odbornou veřejnost. Výzkum jsem zaměřili na pohled lidí, jež mají přímou zkušenost s životem v rodině s dítětem s m.p. (rodičů a zdravých sourozenců) a na pohled profesionálů, tedy lidí, jež sice nemají přímou zkušenost, ale jsou s rodinami v každodenním kontaktu. Výsledky výzkumu prezentujeme v podobě popisu situace rodičů a v formou zmíněných doporučení.

Abstract:

Annotation: In the submitted doctoral thesis we discuss the situation of parents whose children are with intellectual disability which is under qualitative research. Theoretical foundation of the work rests on the problem of stressful situations and coping with them, on the definitions of mental retardation and family, specifically the family with retarded children. The aim of the research was to find out as much as possible about the life of these people and to, based on the findings, give a description of the situation and formulate specific recommendations for this situation which could be useful to non-specialists and specialists alike. Research was focused on the views of the people with personal experience of life in a family with a m. r. child (parents and healthy siblings) and the point of view of professionals – people who do not have a personal experience but are in daily contact with such families. Results of the research are here presented in a form of description of parents' situation and in the form of the already mentioned recommendations.
