Situational analysis of the chosen company

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je Situační analýza vybraného podniku. Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzování vlivů vnějšího a vnitřního prostředí, které působí na podnik a pomocí vhodných metod vyhodnocení stávající strategie. Na základě zjištěných informací navržení opatření a doporučení ke změně strategie. Pro vypracování této bakalářské práce byl vybrán supermarket Terno České Budějovice. V aplikační části je nejdříve pomocí analýzy zdrojů zhodnoceno vnitřní prostředí podniku. Součástí analýzy vnitřního prostředí je dále popsáno dispoziční řešení, nákupní atmosféra, formy prodeje a nabídka zboží a služeb. Pro zhodnocení vnějšího prostředí jsou použity analýzy Porterův model pěti sil a STEP analýza. Výsledky vnitřního a vnějšího prostředí jsou shrnuty ve SWOT analýze. V diskuzi výsledků je zhodnocení současného strategického přístupu. V závěru jsou navržena opatření a doporučení, která by vedla ke zlepšení postavení supermarketu na trhu.

Abstract:

The subject-matter of this bachelor thesis is the situation analysis of a selected enterprise. The purpose is to analyse the impacts of the external and internal environment affecting the enterprise, to assess the existing strategy by means of suitable methods, and to propose actions and recommendations for changes of the strategy based on the established information. The enterprise analysed in this bachelor thesis is the Terno České Budějovice supermarket. The applied part of the thesis starts with the assessment of the internal environment of the enterprise by means of the resources analysis. Furthermore, the internal environment analysis includes the description of the layout, the shopping atmosphere, the forms of sale, and the range of goods and services offered by the Terno supermarket. The external environment is assessed by means of the Porter's Five Forces analysis and the STEP analysis. The results of the internal and external environment assessment are summarised in the SWOT analysis. The discussion of the results includes the assessment of the existing strategic approach. In the final part of the thesis the author proposes actions and recommendations which might improve the position of the supermarket on the market.
