Trade unions of employers - the providers of social services

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám pohledem na činnost odborových organizací, které se zaměřují na poskytování sociálních služeb v rámci města Ostrava Diplomovou práci jsem rozdělila do dvou hlavních částí - teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část je strukturovaná do pěti kapitol, ve kterých se podrobně zabývám významem odborových organizací, jejich hlavním posláním a pozornost věnuji také zásadám, které jsou důležité pro fungování odborových organizací. Součástí teoretické časti je také pohled na historický vývoj odborové problematiky nejen ve světovém měřítku, ale také pohled na tuto problematiku v rámci České republiky. Důležitou součástí teoretické časti je rovněž ucelený pohled na organizační strukturu odborových organizací a výčet jejich hlavních činností. V závěru teoretické časti je představena charakteristika dvou typů zařízení, které poskytují sociální služby. Empirická část je pak věnována výzkumu jako celku s popisem zvolené výzkumné strategie. Hlavním cílem výzkumné časti bylo zjistit, zda odborové organizace v organizacích poskytujících sociální služby dostatečně hájí zájmy svých členů. Byly zde podrobně představeny teoretické přístupy jednotlivých autorů k metodám výzkumu a teoretické pohledy na jednotlivé výzkumné strategie. Následně byl vybrán vhodný typ výzkumu pro řešení mého výzkumného cíle a vybrána metoda výzkumu spolu s výzkumnou technikou, kterou jsem použila v praktické části tohoto výzkumu. Došlo k postupnému a velmi podrobnému sběru dat a následnému analytickému vyhodnocení shromážděných dat. Výstupem analýzy bylo zjištění hlavních oblastí, které jsou důležité pro zkoumaný výzkumný vzorek odborových organizací.

Abstract:

In my thesis I look at the activities of trade unions, which focus on providing social services within the city of Ostrava I divided the dissertation into two main parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is structured into five chapters, in which I deal in detail with the importance of trade unions, their primary mission and I also devote my attention to the principles that are important for the functioning of the trade unions. The part of the theoretical part is also the view of the historical development of trade union issues not only globally but also view at this issue in the Czech Republic. An important part of the theory is also a comprehensive overview of the organizational structure of trade unions and a list of their main activities. In the end of the theoretical part a characterization of the two types of institution that provide social services is presented. The empirical part is devoted to research as a whole with a description of the selected research strategy. The main objective of the research section was to determine whether trade unions in organizations providing social services defend adequately the interests of its members. There were presented in detail various theoretical approaches by the authors to research methods and to theoretical perspectives on individual research strategy. The appropriate type of research to address my research objectives and research method chosen was subsequently selected, along with a research technique that I used in the practical part of this research. There was a gradual and very detailed data collection and subsequent evaluation of analytical data collected. The output of the analysis was the identification of the main areas that are important for surveyed research sample of the trade unions.
