Taxation of Cryptocurrenies

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na zdanění specifických příjmů – kryptoměn. S tímto tématem je spojená složitá problematika, jak už z hlediska uchopení ekonomické podstaty, tak z hlediska akceptace jednotlivých států světa. Součástí práce je identifikace příjmů, analýza jejich zdanění a následná komparace s vybranými státy. První a druhá kapitola se zabývá základními informacemi o kryptoměnách a představuje nejznámější z nich, tedy Bitcoin. Následující dvě kapitoly se věnují postupům zdanění, jak z hlediska daně z příjmů, tak z hlediska daně z přidané hodnoty. Pátá část práce poskytuje náhled do právních úprav a závěrečné dvě kapitoly se věnuji komparaci s vybranými státy v otázce zdanění a celkové akceptaci kryptoměn. Na konci práce čtenář nalezne v sedmé kapitole modelový příklad pro lepší představu zdanění příjmů z kryptoměn. Výsledkem mé diplomové práce je komparace zdanění ve vybraných státech a případová studie na zdanění kryptoměn.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Taxation of Cryptocurrenies" deals with the issue of taxation of specific type of income - cryptocurrency transactions in the Czech republic. There is a complex issue associated with this topic, in term of grasping the economic characteristics and also in the acceptance of individual countries in the world. Part of the thesis is the identification of income, analysis of their taxation and comparison with selected countries. The first and second chapters deal with basic information about cryptocurrencies and present the most famous one, Bitcoin. The following two chapters deal with taxation procedures, both in terms of income tax and in terms of value added tax. The fifth part of the thesis provides an insight into the legislation and the final two chapters are devoted to comparison with selected countries on the issue of taxation and overall acceptance of cryptocurrencies. At the end of the diploma thesis, the reader will find in the seventh chapter a model example for a better idea of taxation of income from cryptocurrencies. The diploma thesis is a comparison of taxation of selected states and contains case study for taxation of cryptocurrencies.
