European debt crisis and euro, Reasons and possible solutions

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat příčiny vzniku a průběh dluhové krize v Evropské unii, posoudit dopad důsledků krize na mezinárodní postavení eura a zároveň vyhodnotit reakce a opatření EU, na základě získaných výsledků a přijatých opatření vyhodnotit aktuální situace v rámci EU. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do několika částí. První část je úvodem do problematiky finančních krizí, veřejných financí a ratingu, vymezuje základní typy finančních krizí a definuje základní a nejdůležitější pojmy, dále je v ní popsána problematika ratingu a jeho vliv na země EU. V druhé části provádím analýzu vzniku příčin dluhové krize a její průběh v Evropské unii a zemích PIGS. Třetí kapitola je zaměřena na problematiku eura, jeho postavení ve světě a výhody, které přináší jednotná evropská měna. Poslední dvě kapitoly popisují kroky a protikrizová opatření přijatá kvůli zastavení dluhové krize a analyzují současný vývoj v zemích PIGS.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the causes of the origin of European debt crisis, to assess the impact of the crises consequences on the international status of the euro, also to evaluate responses and actions of the EU and finally based on obtained results and taken actions to assess the current situation within the EU. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first part is an introduction into financial crises, public finances and credit rating. These concepts define the basic types of financial crises and determine the basic definitions. Moreover it further described the issue rating and its impact on EU countries. In the second part were analyzed the emerging causes of the debt crisis and its influence on the European Union and PIGS countries. The third chapter is focused on the euro, its position in the world and the benefits that brings the single European currency. The last two chapters describe steps and anti-crisis actions taken in order to stop the debt crisis and analyze current development in the PIGS countries.
