The energy mix of the Czech Republic in relation to the energy targets of the European Union

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce řeší energetický mix České republiky ve vztahu k energetickým cílům Evropské unie. Cílem byla analýza, jakými změnami by energetický mix musel projít, aby splňoval energetické požadavky stanovené EU, a predikce dalšího možného vývoje. Vyhodnocení probíhalo pomocí analýzy energetických cílů a požadavků EU, vývoje energetického mixu země do současné doby a následného návrhu realistického potencionálního scénáře možného budoucího vývoje. V rámci návrhu budoucího vývoje byly brány v potaz cíle EU do roku 2030 a 2050. Práce došla k závěru, že pokud by ČR pokračovala stejným tempem snižování emisí skleníkových plynů, tak tyto cíle realisticky nesplní. Jako podklad jsou k tomuto závěru prezentovány překážky a další argumenty týkající se energetického mixu ČR.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the energy mix of the Czech Republic in relation to the energy targets of the European Union. The aim was to analyse what changes the energy mix would have to undergo to meet the energy requirements set by the EU and to predict further possible developments. The assessment was carried out by analysing the EU energy targets and requirements, the evolution of the country’s energy mix to date and then proposing a realistic potential scenario for possible future developments. The EU energy targets for 2030 and 2050 were considered in the design of future developments. The paper concluded that the Czech Republic would not realistically meet these targets if it continued to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the same rate. The obstacles and other arguments concerning the energy mix of the Czech Republic are presented as a basis for this conclusion.
