Production of the contemporary circus as an import/export product and it’s funding

Abstract:

Diplomová práce "Produkce nového cirkusu jako dovozní a vývozní artikl a její financování" má za cíl zmapovat současný stav české novocirkusové scény. Nový žánr se v posledních letech natolik rozšířil, že se stal jedním z nejprogresivnějších oborů živého umění s širokým mezinárodním přesahem. Především díky ukazatelům, jakými je růst návštěvnosti, růst počtu představení, míra zahraničního zapojení, SWOT analýza a jiné, je možné představit celý směr nového cirkusu jako zvláštní produkt na trhu umění u nás a v cizině. V druhé rovině reflektuje práce také problematiku financování celého oboru a možnosti čerpání finanční podpory. V posledních letech se soubory stávají závislé především na grantové podpoře z veřejných zdrojů, a proto je také cílem práce analyzovat vývoj a relevantnost této formy podpory.

Abstract:

The main goal of the Master's thesis "Production of the contemporary circus as an import/export product and it's funding" focused on mapping of the current condition of Czech contemporary circus. This new genre in recent years become so widespread that it has become one of the most progressive branch of art with a broad international reach. Thanks to indicators such as the growth of attendance, increase in number of performances, the degree of foreign involvement, SWOT analysis, etc., it is possible to imagine the whole direction of the contemporary circus as a separate product on the market of art in Czech republic and abroad. The second level of work also reflects the problem of financing the branch and the option of receiving support. In recent years, the files become primarily dependent on funding from public sources, and the goal is also to analyze the evolution and relevance of this form of support.
