Přivítací rituály v náhradní rodinné péči: jejich podoba a významy pro soužití v rodině

Wellcoming Rituals in Surrogate Care - the Forms and Meanings for Family Life

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá podobami rituálů a významy, které jim rodiny přikládají, v procesu přijetí dítěte do osvojení nebo pěstounské péče. Individuální vítací rituály a ceremoniály (křty) jsou chápány jako formy chování, které usnadňují přijetí dítěte do širšího společenství a jsou také symbolickým „posvěcením“ nové etapy soužití v rodině. Proces přijetí dítěte do rodiny je nahlížen jako adaptační proces, při kterém se všichni členové rodiny vypořádávají s novu situací a hledají nové způsoby společného fungování. Z rozhovorů s respondenty ze šesti rodin vyplývá, že tyto rodiny si vytvořily při příchodu dítěte řadu individuálních rodinných rituálů. Věřící rodiny se účastnily církevních rituálů a s dosud nepokřtěnými dětmi absolvovaly ceremoniál křtu. Vítání do života se s přijatým dítětem účastnila pouze jedna rodina. Jednotliví respondenti a jejich rodiny přikládají rituálům odlišné významy, které byly formulovány jako podpora sounáležitosti rodiny, posílení pocitu jistoty dítěte, utváření pozitivní identity náhradní rodiny, přijetí dítěte do širšího společenství, kontakt s minulostí a u církevních rituálů závazek a úkon víry.

Abstract:

This paper deals with the forms of rituals and their importance in the process of adopting a child or taking them into foster care. The individual welcome rituals and ceremonies are understood as forms of behaviour that help to embrace the child to a broader society and that also represent a symbolical “initiation” to a new era of living in a family. The process of accepting a child into a family is regarded as an adapting process in which all members of the family cope with a new situation and they seek new means of living together. Interviews with six families show that these families created a series of individual family rituals after adopting a child. Religious families took part in church rituals and had their not-yet-christened children undergo the ceremony of christening. Only one of the families took part at Welcoming new young citizens with their child. Each respondent considered the rituals to have different importance, which was formulated as supporting the unity of a family, strengthening the child’s feeling of security, creating a positive identity of a substitute family, embracing the child to a broader society, the contact with the past, and – regarding church rituals – the commitment and pursuit of religious beliefs.
