Consumer society - clothing market

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá konzumní společností na trhu s oblečením, pohlíží na vliv konzumerismu na naši společnost a na jeho důsledky. Teoretická část se především věnuje oděvnímu trhu ve světě, se kterým je spojována výroba oblečení a její dopady na životní prostředí jako například fenomén fast fashion, nadspotřeba oblečení a nakládání s textilním odpadem. Cílem práce je pochopit nákupní rozhodování občanů České republiky, kteří jsou aktivními účastníky konzumní společnosti. Z dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 133 respondentů, bylo za cíl zjistit motiv nákupů respondentů, četnost jejich nákupů, oblíbené oděvní značky nebo také jaké jsou rozhodující aspekty pro výběr oblečení – zda je upřednostňován materiál nad cenou oblečení. Vykazuje naše společnost spíše konzumní nebo udržitelné chování?

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of consumer society in the clothing market, looks at the influence of consumerism on our society and its outcomes. The theoretical part is mostly dedicated to clothing market worldwide, which is associated with the production of wear and its impact on the environment, for instance the fast fashion phenomenon, overconsumption, and treatment of textile waste. The goal of thesis is to understand purchase decisions of Czech citizens, who are active participants in consumer society. Practical part is based on questionnaire survey, which was attended by 133 respondents, the intention was to find out the motive of respondent’s purchase, as well as frequency of these purchases, preferred brands, and what are the crucial aspects for their final choice – is material being preferred to price? Does our society display more consumptive or sustainable behaviour?
