Share indexes on selected stock exchanges in Central and Eastern Europe

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na hlavní akciové indexy kalkulované na burzách v České republice, na Slovensku, v Polsku a Maďarsku. Teoretická část objasňuje význam a funkci burz. Popisuje burzovní složky a dává přehled o akciových indexech a jejich členění. Druhá kapitola je věnována vzniku a historii jednotlivých burz a hlavním akciovým indexům, které jsou na těchto burzách zveřejňovány. Praktická část se orientuje na vypovídací schopnost akciových indexů na základě grafického srovnání a výpočtů korelačních koeficientů. Analyzována je souvislost mezi vývojem akciových indexů sledovaných burz a makroekonomickým ukazatelem HDP a vztah mezi vývojem indexu DAX 30 a vybranými indexy. Závěrečná kapitola je věnována výskytu lednového efektu na domácím kapitálovém trhu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the main share indexes calculated on stock exchanges in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Poland and Hungary. The theoretical section describes the meaning and function of exchanges. It describes the stock components and gives an overview of the share indexes and their breakdowns. The second chapter presents the origin and history of stock exchanges and main share indexes, which are published in these exchanges. The practical part focuses on the explanatory power of share indexes using graphical comparisons and calculations of correlation coefficients. In this part the relationship between changes in equity indexes of tracked stock exchanges and the macroeconomic indicators of GDP, and the relationship between the development index DAX 30 and the selected indexes are monitored. The final chapter focuses on the occurrence of the January effect on the domestic capital market.
