The analysis of early school leaving

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze předčasných odchodů ze vzdělávání v 27 členských státech EU. Cílem práce je analyzovat míry předčasných odchodů ze studia jak v České republice, tak v Evropské unii v letech 2010-2019, a to v návaznosti na strategii EVROPA 2020. Využita jsou dostupná data Eurostatu. První dvě kapitoly se věnují teoretickému zázemí daného problému a také jsou popisovány využité statistické metody. Třetí kapitola je stěžejní, neboť je za pomoci deskriptivních statistických charakteristik a spojitých a krabičkových grafů vyhodnoceno, jak se vyvíjela míra předčasných odchodů ze studia, a to jak v České republice, tak i v celé EU-27 v čase (2010-2019). Využito bylo také příslušných parametrických a zejména neparametrických statistických metod ke zhodnocení rozdílů míry předčasných odchodů ze studia mezi jednotlivými skupinami (zaměstnanosti/nezaměstnanosti) a také podle geografické struktury. Přínos práce spočívá ve zjištění, jak si členské státy vedou v ukazateli míra předčasných odchodů ze studia a zda dokázaly naplnit Strategii Evropa 2020.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of early school leaving in the 27 EU member states. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the rates of early school leaving both in the Czech Republic and in the European Union in the years 2010-2019, in connection with the EUROPE 2020 strategy. Available Eurostat data are used. The first two chapters deal with the theoretical background of the problem and also describe the statistical methods used. The third chapter is crucial, as it uses descriptive statistical characteristics and continuous and box graphs to evaluate how the rate of early school leaving has developed, both in the Czech Republic and throughout the EU-27 over time (2010-2019). Appropriate parametric and especially non-parametric statistical methods were also used to evaluate the differences in the rates of early school leaving between individual groups (employment / unemployment) and also according to the geographical structure. The contribution of the work lies in finding out how the Member States are doing in the indicator of early school leaving rates and whether they have been able to fulfil the Europe 2020 Strategy.
